The Olympic Games is the most important sports event in the world, and success in these competitions requires sufficient attention to basic sports. For this reason, the purpose of the present study; It was to identify the factors influencing the tendency of elementary school students to start professional activities in Olympic medal sports. This research is qualitative, applied, and was conducted using the phenomenological approach in the Colaizzi method in 2021. The statistical society was selected from among the people related to the subject, including: university faculty members in the department of sports management and sports psychology, members of the board of directors of the swimming, athletics, and shooting federation, and coaches of the national swimming, athletics, shooting, and gymnastics teams. Purposive sampling method and up to 15 interviews were conducted in an in-depth and semi-structured manner. According to the findings, 61 subthemes were identified in the form of 10 main themes: family, schools, teachers, peers, media, infrastructure, financial dimensions, motivational dimensions, managerial dimensions and talent search. The interaction of relevant organizations and federations in the field of student sports with each other and creating a common perspective in the field of student participation in Olympic medal-winning sports, taking into account the problems and reducing the cost of student participation. In Olympic sports, providing suitable training facilities and facilities, using expert sports managers and coaches in elementary age sports; It is an effective step in increasing the tendency of students to actively participate in Olympic medal-winning sports.
