The purpose of this study was to design a model of sports ecosystem development in the north of the Iran based on the harmonization of public sports and championship and inter-provincial convergence. The research method was qualitative with a systematic (thematic) exploratory approach. The statistical population consisted of two sections of experts (professors, administrators, etc.) and information resources (articles, documents, etc.). A statistical sample was sampled in a sufficient number (theoretical saturation) by judgmental method (19 people and 58 documents). Research tools included systematic library studies and structured exploratory interviews. The validity of the research was evaluated and confirmed based on the legal and scientific validity of the sample, the content validity of the tools and the agreement between the proofreaders. Conceptual coding and system analysis were used to analyze the findings. The extracted conceptual framework consisted of 4 levels, 9 perspectives, 36 dimensions and 115 key components. The four conceptual levels of the model include; The research model includes four conceptual levels; The environmental capacity of Northern sport development is the systemic leadership of northern sport development, the convergence of public and championship sport development, and the convergent development functions of northern sport. Based on the results, it is suggested to the research management in the field of sports to define the application of sports research as a systematic and strategic flow and at the same time improve the usability of sports research to build capacity in the scientific, executive, industrial and social environment of sports.
