Local native games are of many benefits in social, cultural, psychological, international, tourism and economic dimensions. Therefore, the research is to identify and analyze the factors affecting the development of rural and indigenous sports. The present research was conducted in terms of applied purpose, descriptive method, and mixed qualitative and quantitative methods. Sampling in the qualitative section was based on a specialized and targeted panel and the number of samples was equal to 20 tons. The statistical population in the quantitative section, including the officials and employees of the local rural and indigenous sports federation and the officials of the provincial boards, were equal to 115 people who were selected as a sample. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, which included 39 factors affecting the development of rural and indigenous sports. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the opinion of 10 university sports management professors and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha test. SPSS and Lisrel software were used for exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis.
The findings showed that 39 factors are effective in the form of components of financial resources, executive factors, environmental, attitudinal and supportive factors, facilities and equipment, human resources, managerial factors, educational measures, motivational and socio-cultural growth. It can be said that the presence of natural spaces and climatic and geographical diversity in the villages along with providing sufficient funds for the implementation of sports programs and the regular holding of focused competitions, national leagues and sports festivals will help to revive and develop rural sports and local indigenous games.
