Adventure sports have experienced significant growth worldwide, including in Iran, over recent decades. The purpose of the current research was to identify the factors affecting Adventure sports in Iran. This research utilized the fuzzy Delphi method to gather expert opinions, Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) to classify components and create a hierarchical model, and MICMAC analysis to determine the influence and dependence of each factor. All specialists and experts in the field of Adventure sports were the research community. 16 people participating in the research were selected through the purposeful and criteria-based sampling method. The results and findings indicated that at the sixth level of the model, "participation and presence at the international level" is recognized as an important influencing factor with high driving power. At the fifth level, "comprehensive and widespread support for athletes" was identified as another critical independent factor crucial for the development of infrastructure, training, and inclusive participation. At the fourth level, "economic and financial support" was identified. The factors at the third level, which include "improvement of sports facilities," "integration of development procedures," and "talent search and training system of athletes," were placed in the link cluster, demonstrating their strong interdependence and significant impact on the system. Lower-level factors, such as "taking advantage of scientific findings," "establishing and increasing participation," and "educational supplies and supports," were important but more dependent on the effectiveness of higher-level factors. Overall, the findings recommend a balanced and integrated approach focused on financial support and strategic integration of development procedures.

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing and prioritizing the key success factors in hosting international Wushu competitions in Iran. The research is exploratory–fundamental in nature and employed a mixed-methods approach based on field data. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with experts in the fields of sports management, international relations, sports tourism, and event management (14 participantes) , and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis method. The findings led to the identification of 43 categories and 11 main themes, including security and crisis management, sports infrastructure, welfare facilities, sports diplomacy, cultural and social capacities, strategic management, economic and financial capacities, specialized human resources, environmental sustainability, sports advertising, and long-term impacts. Subsequently, interpretive structural modeling (ISM) was applied to determine the relationships and hierarchical levels among these components. The results revealed that security, safety, and crisis management constitute the foundational factor for successful hosting, while other components operate at higher levels of influence. Accordingly, this research provides a framework for resource prioritization and targeted planning, offering practical guidance for enhancing Iran’s capacity to host international Wushu competitions and to leverage their economic, cultural, and social opportunities.

Athlete migration is one of the major challenges facing developing countries, including Iran, which is influenced by complex economic, social, and sports-related factors. The aim of this study is to provide a typology of these migrations. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and thematic analysis, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews, documents, and published reports. The findings of the study revealed that two main factors influence the migration decisions of Iranian athletes: (1) social network relations, and (2) the perception of socio-economic instability. From the intersection of these two factors and the analyzed codes, five types of migration were identified: temporary migration, migration based on dependency and cultural ties, migration for career development, migration driven by livelihood challenges, and migration with the intention of seeking asylum. The results indicate that managing this phenomenon requires supportive policymaking, improvement of economic conditions, and the creation of professional opportunities. This study can assist sports managers and policymakers in designing effective strategies.
