The aim of the present study is to analyze the future developments of social capital in Iranian sports in the context of horizontal media and micro-influencers and to draw possible scenarios in the horizon of 1440. This study was applied-developmental in terms of purpose and mixed (qualitative-quantitative) in terms of approach and was conducted using a scenario-based planning model (expert model). In the qualitative part, data were collected through 18 semi-structured interviews with experts in the field of sports media, managers, researchers, and micro-influencers and examined using thematic analysis. The results of the qualitative analysis identified five major strategic axes, including recreating digital trust, transferring media power from institutions to individuals, algorithmic logic and attention economy, fluid and fragile media governance, and the duality of collective participation and discursive polarization. Accordingly, 12 key drivers were extracted and evaluated in the quantitative stage using the Delphi technique and the cross-effects matrix in the Mikmak software. Structural analysis showed that the five drivers of platform power, invisible algorithms, emotional reward, lack of accountability, and independent content production play a central role in shaping the future. Then, by defining the dual states of these drivers and assessing their compatibility in the expert panel, four main scenarios were drawn: smart platform-society balance (desirable), platform vortex (critical), gradual progress of regulation (semi-desirable), and short-term attention trap (high risk).

The present study was conducted to analyze the cross-impacts of factors influencing the future of management stability in Iranian sports federations. In terms of purpose, the study was applied, and in terms of nature and method, it was descriptive-analytical, adopting a futures studies approach and based on an exploratory sequential mixed-method design. The participants in the qualitative phase consisted of 26 experts and specialists in sport management, senior managers and board members of sports federations, senior officials from the Ministry of Sport and Youth, and university faculty members, who were selected through purposive and snowball sampling based on the principle of theoretical saturation. Among them, 10 individuals participated in the structural analysis phase as the research strategic panel. Data were collected in two stages through semi-structured interviews and a 28×28 cross-impact matrix. The data from the first stage were analyzed using thematic analysis based on Braun and Clarke’s (2006) framework, while the data from the second stage were analyzed through structural analysis using MICMAC software. The findings showed that in the qualitative phase, 139 basic themes were identified and organized into 28 organizing themes and 7 overarching themes. The results of the structural analysis also indicated that, among the 28 identified variables, four variables—institutional autonomy and independence, rule-based managerial appointments, policy and institutional alignment, and political and governmental instability—constituted the most important critical uncertainties affecting the future of management stability in Iranian sports federations.

This study identifies key factors driving the future development of taekwondo in Iran. It also offers practical strategies to enhance the sport's success. Futures studies are crucial in sports, especially with rapid technological advancements. This research looks at what influences taekwondo's future in Iran. Using qualitative methods, the study employs structural analysis through MICMAC software. Researchers collected data via questionnaires from 87 taekwondo experts, including champions, coaches, referees, and managers. Expert panel discussions also contributed to the findings. Ultimately, 17 key factors were identified and analyzed. The main influences on taekwondo's future in Iran include financial resources, standardised sports facilities, up-to-date technology, capable management, medal achievements, and international collaborations. The analysis shows that technology, management, and medal achievements have high impact but low dependency, making them essential input factors. Conversely, financial resources and sports facilities are risk factors, as changes here could significantly affect the system. Additionally, financial resources, sports facilities, and international positions are strategic components. The study concludes with practical recommendations: short term—securing financial resources and equipment; medium term—enhancing athlete awareness and coach development; long term—comprehensive development and promoting sports culture. This research serves as a roadmap for sports managers and the Iranian Taekwondo Federation in creating sustainable development strategies for the sport.

The environment of professional sports is full of uncertainty; therefore, it is necessary to know the developments ahead of it. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to forecast Iran's problems in the field of professional sports using the future-research approach in the horizon of 2031. Therefore, the research method used in the present study was a prospective study. The statistical population of this study consisted of the staff managers of the ministries of sports and sports federations. The selection of these people was based on the purposeful sampling method, and 15 people were selected based on the indicators of theoretical mastery, practical experience, willingness and ability to participate in the research, as well as access to them. The information of this research was collected using interviews and questionnaires. In this research, the content validity method (CVR) was used to check the validity of the research tool, and the dichotomization method was used to check its reliability, and the correlation between the scores of the two tests was equal to r=0.823. Also, for future research, structural analysis method was used and this analysis was done with the help of MICMAC software. The findings showed that the immigration of athletes, the political confrontation of western countries, the presence of politicians and military at the head of sports, the restriction of women's presence in stadiums, Iranian athletes not confronting the athletes of the occupation regime are the most important challenges facing sports in the horizon is 2031.
