A guide to prepare articles for the Quarterly Journal of Strategic Studies of Sports and Youth

 

  • Acceptable articles in the quarterly are scientific reports of research studies that include Persian and English abstracts, introduction, method, findings, discussion and commentary, conclusion and sources.
  • The volume of the articles should be between 15 to 20 A4 pages (each page is about 400 words) and should be typed in Word 2007 program or lower format with Blotus 14 font size.
  • The structure of the articles should include the following components:

 

- Title page: It is necessary to write the full title of the article with the fewest and most beautiful words, the full name of the authors, their highest degree and field of study, their university or organization and their academic rank or organizational position (in Farsi and English).The corresponding author’s postal address, landline phone, mobile , fax number and e-mail address should be included too.

 

- Persian and English abstract: it is necessary to have an organized abstract in maximum 250 words, in Farsi and English, including the aim, method, findings and conclusion sections in a condensed form and reflecting the main contents of the article along with 3 to 6 words which should be provided as keywords (so that the article can be indexed based on it).

 

- Introduction: The problem statement, research background, a summary of definitions, principles, theories, unknowns left from previous researches, theoretical framework, hypotheses or questions, and results, discussion and resources should be presented in full.

 

- Method: It includes the explanation of research method, statistical population, sampling method and research tools.

 

- Findings: The findings of the statistical methods can be presented in the form of text, table (number and title above it) and graph (number and title below it) - the number of tables and graphs should not be more than 6.

 

- Discussion and conclusion: While comparing the findings of this research with the previous ones from the point of view of similarities and differences, the correctness or incorrectness of the hypotheses and the purpose of the research should be pointed out.

 

-        Sources: All articles must be documented with correct and relevant sources, and as it is not possible for the members of the editorial board and referees to check the accuracy of all sources, it is the corresponding author’s responsibility. Also, it is necessary to use the sources published used after 2005 .

 

1- Citation of Farsi and English sources must be in the in-text style (APA) within parentheses and in the following manner: (The author's last name, the source publication year, page(s) number).  If an author has published more than one work during one year they should be distinguished from each other by mentioning based on the alphabet order after the year of publication.

2- Non-Persian equivalents of specialized words, names of people or places, abbreviations and headings should be mentioned in the footer of each page with independent numbering.

3- Any necessary additional explanations should come in numerical order, in the footnotes at the end of the article, before the list of references.

4- The list of the sources (Persian or non-Persian) at the end of the article should be arranged in alphabetical order of the author's last name as follows:

 

  1. Book: The author’s last name, name (year of publication), "Title of the book”. Name and surname of the translator (if necessary). Place of publication: Publisher

 

  1. Article: The author’s last name, name (year of publication) "Title of the article". Name and surname of the translator (if necessary). Name of the magazine. Year or period, No.

 

  1. Collection of articles: The author’s last name, name (year of publication) "Title of the article". Name and surname of the translator (if necessary). Name and surname of the editor of the collection. “Title of the collection”. Place of publication: Publisher.

 

  1. Academic thesis: The author’s last name, name (year of compilation) "Title of thesis”. Degree, the faculty and university of study.

 

  1. Website: The author's last name, name (the last time the site was updated) "Title of the article". Website address (date of reference to the website).

 

 

  • Completing ‘The Conflict of Interest Form’ by the corresponding author of the article is mandatory to start reviewing the article.

 

The Conflict of Interest Form is an agreement in which the author(s) of an article declare that they have avoided any misuses of publication of the article including plagiarism, misconduct, falsification of data or submission and double publication and they have no commercial interests in this regard and haven’t received any money for presenting their work. The Conflict of Interest Form shows the readers of the work how the text of the article was prepared and presented by the authors. The corresponding author signs and approves this form on behalf of other authors and declares the originality of its content. She/he also declares that this work has not been published elsewhere and has not been submitted to any other publication at the same time. Also, all rights to use the content, tables, images, etc. have been assigned to the publisher.
