Abstract
Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between moral intelligence and social adjustment of young volleyball players, with an emphasis on social adjustments in Kerman city. The present study was descriptive-correlational and applied in terms of purpose. مه. The most common definition of intelligence is an individual’s competence and aptitude for learning. Some define intelligence as general aptitude and the capacity to utilize past experiences, while others, such as Piaget, define it as the ability to adapt and adjust to the environment. According to Wechsler, intelligence is the capacity to think rationally, act logically, and behave effectively in adapting to one’s environment (Abu, 2024). In this regard, it should be noted that psychologists have focused on an individual’s adaptation to their environment, considering personality traits that assist the individual in adjusting to the world around them as ‘normal’.”The statistical population of this study included all young volleyball players in Kerman, 302 of whom participated in this study through cluster-random sampling. Also, the moral intelligence questionnaires of Linnick et al. (2005) and the social adjustment questionnaires of Sohrabi et al. (2011) were used to collect data for this study. The findings showed that there was a significant relationship between the components of moral intelligence (honesty, responsibility, forgiveness, and compassion) and social adjustment in young volleyball players (P<0.001). It seems that moral intelligence is the background and factor controlling abnormalities, adaptations, social relationships, mental health, and quality of life of young volleyball players.
