Abstract
Interpretive Structural Modeling of Compensation Factors for Iranian Premier League Football Coaches
Abstract
The aim of the present study is to develop a compensation model for head coaches in the Iranian Premier League. This study is classified as applied research in terms of purpose and, from a methodological standpoint, falls within the category of exploratory mixed-methods research. The statistical population of the study comprised the technical staff (head coaches, assistant coaches, and other members of the technical team) of Iran's official leagues. Using snowball sampling, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 experts in the field, and the interviews continued until data saturation was reached. The data collection instrument was semi-structured interviews, and the validity and reliability of the instrument were assessed using Lincoln and Guba's four-part criteria, including credibility, dependability, confirmability, and transferability. The results indicated that the compensation factors for football coaches encompass two main dimensions: first financial–welfare compensation, comprising base and guaranteed payments, performance-based compensation, executive and behavioral guarantees, and welfare benefits and ancillary facilities; and second contractual–control compensation, encompassing the scope of authority and decision-making domain, as well as legal provisions and contractual requirements.
