Abstract

The purpose of the current research was to identify the economic drivers of the Iranian sports industry. The current research is practical in terms of purpose, and it is a type of survey method. The statistical population of the research who were selected based on purposive sampling was among all specialists and experts who had the necessary knowledge in the field of economics and sports marketing. Finally, 13 interviews were conducted with experts, and after conducting 11 interviews, the research reached theoretical saturation and no new information was obtained from the interviews. For collecting qualitative data, interviews with experts were conducted while for analyzing mutual effects, a researcher-made matrix questionnaire was used. For the first part of data processing, the Delphi technique was used and cross-analysis with Micmac software was used for the second part of the study. In data processing, the structural analysis method and the use of Mic Mac software were implemented. The results determined that nine future makers and drivers have the most effects on the country's sports industry, namely the development of facilities and infrastructures, development and expansion of social networks, legal development, development of sports products export companies, development of human resources, scientific and research development, institutional, structural and ownership development, development of fans and the resulting income, media development. In conclusion, the sports industry can be developed through the cooperation of political institutions, more advertisements, and support and encouragement plans.
