Abstract

One of the most important social deviations in sports environments is vandalism or violence in sports environments. This research was conducted for the sociological study of factors affecting vandalism in sports environments with the approach of foundational data theory. The statistical population of the qualitative section is professors and faculty members in the field of sports sociology who have mastered the subject of this research. The sampling method is purposeful and the sample size continued until theoretical saturation; Therefore, after conducting interviews, we reached theoretical saturation with the number of 15 interviews. In the quantitative part, first of all, a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire was developed from the components identified in the qualitative part. Then, by modeling the structural equations of the sociological study model, the factors affecting vandalism in sports environments were tested. The statistical population consists of a quantitative part, including all spectators in the environment and sports clubs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Based on the size of the unlimited statistical population and according to Morgan's table, 384 people are considered as samples in each of the sports fields. Based on the results of the qualitative part, finally, 6 main networks, 16 main components and 106 concepts were identified for the sociological study of the influencing factors of vandalism in sports environments through the analysis of interviews.
